RIDE SAFELY, TAKE IT TO THE TRACK....

1- Tell us about your background in riding and how you came to be a stunt rider?
I got my first motorbike when I was 4, a pee wee 50, all my older cousins rode bikes and I wanted to be like them, I rode dirt bikes my whole life till I was 17 then I got a road bike, immediately started teaching myself wheelies and it all went from there.  I raced 250 proddies for a while back in 2003 and did quite well but over the Christmas break my older cousin passed away on a ride we were on and I basically got a lil silly not coping too well with his passing and learnt a lot of new tricks on my bike, I didn't race that season and ended up doing my first stunt show for a drift event at calder, A guy there saw me ride and invited me to do a show in Malaysia, I never stopped doing shows after that!

2- What is your favourite stunt? Why?
I got lots of favorites, I guess crankys are one of them, they're basically big wide circle wheelies with speed and good lean angle using the edge of the tyre.  And big slides! Love a good skid!

3- What was your hardest stunt to master?
Not too sure about that one, theres lots that took a while to get, lots of spills, a long time ago circle wheelies took me a bit to get but once I got them they became easy… Stoppies are one of those tricks that you have to keep at in order to learn how to steer the bike wherever you want it. I guess I don't have a hardest trick as they change so regularly as I keep expanding my bag of tricks…

4- What can we expect from LLS in the future?
Well I don't want to give away all my secrets but I will say I have some pretty big things in the works event wise… on a riding level I have been training harder and more often than ever and my ridings improving dramatically, constantly learning new tricks and moves!

5- How far did you go at school(or further education)?
Its going to sound bad but I only finished year 11 and left, I was a lovable cheeky student, certainly not lacking any smarts.   I passed all my exams, finished with top marks all my projects and work, I even scored top 3% in the state for English; however I failed on attendance and was told I'd have to repeat so I left and started a carpenters apprenticeship.

6- You must have a great team of people helping you achieve your goals, how important is that?
I definitely have great support around me, my parents, especially my mum and stepdad have stood by me and backed me all the way, believing in me was the biggest help because as you could imagine I got a lot of negativity from some people telling me I was following an empty dream… I used this to my advantage and it drove me to prove those people wrong.   I have some really good mates that loe coming along to events and lending a helping hand, of course the support of Triumph and other sponsors is huge! We're like a little family,…

7- What is/was your favourite show? Who has the best crowds?
MotoGP is always a good one for me, I love being amongst the biggest motorcycle event of the year! However my favorite for performance are the smaller performance area motorcycle based shows like the Sydney motorcycle expo, the toy run, pink ribbon ride, rat rallys, st Kilda festival etc… I love working in a small area, I think its my specialty, I love being close to the crowds and seeing there reactions, high fiving them etc…

8- You recently made some short films promoting the Walkinshaw cars brand. What prompted that collaboration? Did you get a cool car out of it, even just for a little while?
Hahaha… I wish, I did get to take it for a spin around Melbourne and gave it a good lil squirt out at calder so that was fun!  Walkinshaw approached me a while ago with a cool concept on some short films promoting the performance values of the WP HSV GTS, when they told me what they wanted to do with Cameron McConville I jumped at it, we had a ball out there, Cam's a great dude and we got along well.  I can't wait to do some more with them..

9- Dream gig? Where would you like to do a stunt show?
That's hard, I think I've done it… MotoGP and Formula1 were always my goals and I've done them now, 4 times!  I guess I don't have one dream gig, I would rather travel to the UK and do various shows around Europe etc while exploring the countryside.  If I had to say 1 thing gig though, I'd say the Isle of Man.  I've always loved that race and would love to be a part of it even for just one year!

10- Shameless plug time, tell us all of your valued sponsors that help you to 'do skids' all over the country?
Happy to, firstly its obvious but Triumph Motorcycles Australia are my major sponsor, they have helped me now for 4 years and we have a great friendship!  I love being a part of the family.  RST is a new one and they deck me out with all my gear etc,, KBC helmets have supported me for a long time now, TechSpec keep me attached to the bike, Dunlop keep me making skids, literally!, TAG bars and Braking Discs, Hart and Huntington clothing company, Globe shoes, Draggin jeans and a bunch of support from friends and small companies all over the place, without any of these people I couldn't do what I do, its amazing the support everyone gives me and I'm truly grateful!  Thanks to all!
